Join us here at the studio in Dumfries for a whole day filled with angel making. Leah creates a limited collection of dolls each year but would you love to learn how to create your very own fabric angel? This would make a perfect gift for someone special or a treasured heirloom for family to enjoy in years to come!
Come along to this full day workshop and Leah will teach you step by step how to make your very own fabric angel. You'll learn doll making techniques, tips on stuffing, creating faces and hair using hand stitching techniques. Use fabrics from our stash, we've some lovely vintage linens, silks, embroidery and lace plus colourful fabrics too. Or why not create a heirloom keepsake angel and bring along some special fabric that means something to you, this could be grannies linen, some children clothes or special mementos which can incorporated into your design.
There's alot to achieve at this workshop so you might not get your angel completely finished but Leah will ensure you know all the techniques and skills necessary so you can hand finish your doll at home.
Material included. Vintage and new fabrics, patchwork, lace, crochet, vintage linens, sewing machine thread, vintage doilies, handkerchiefs, embroidery threads, hollow fibre filling, vintage buttons, ribbon and yarn. Tools of the trade are also provided including use of a sewing machine.
Classes are small to ensure you get the personal tuition you need to help with your project and get the best out of each workshop we host.
PLEASE NOTE: There will be lots of hand stitching involved in the class but we will of course guide you through each technique.
A Light lunch is included, plus Tea & refreshments are also provided throughout the day,
