Your home for the weekend during the retreat will be Craigbittern, a stunning Victorian house & cottage located on the Solway Coast. Leah could think of no better place she'd love to host a sewing retreat. It's just a stones through from one of her favourite beaches and its just 5 minutes down the road from where she lives! 

Craigbittern is located in a beautiful, commanding position on the edge of Sandyhills, above a stunning bay on the Solway coastline. The views over the Solway Firth to the Cumbrian coast are quite breathtaking, yet the house is well shielded from the public road by trees and shrubs, making it very private. 

In the main house there is plenty of room to relax, it's also where you will enjoy your meals during your stay. At the end of the day you can settle down in the sitting room infront of a roaring fire, enjoy a tipple and spend the rest of the evening making creative friendships and getting to know one another after an inspiring day filled with gentle stitch.

There are also large, enclosed gardens to the front and rear, where if the weather isn't too chilly we can enjoy an alfresco lunch or a spot of stitching. The heated games area will be transformed into your studio for the weekend, an inspiring and welcoming space to create and  learn. It is detached from the main house, making it the perfect place for those who want to stay up a little later and continue sewing!

Adjacent to the house is Craigbittern Cottage, but has its own entrance to the rear. The cottage has a light, airy decor and is welcoming and cosy. On the ground floor is the lounge, shower room, a toilet, a double bedroom and upstairs compromises of a small kitchen and breakfast dining area and twin room. Craigbittern cottage is perfect for those who perhaps want their own space, or for those who work to a different schedule!

There is of course lots of living space in the main house and in the lounge areas to accommodate all our guests during the retreat. 

Each of the rooms at Craigbittern House & Cottage has its own individual style & character. You can choose to enjoy a room all to yourself, well why not! If you'd love to come to the retreat with a friend, you've the option to share a bedroom & bed (limited spaces) or you may prefer to choose the twin room.
