Leah Halliday initially started as a freelance designer in the fashion industry after having studied for her degree and postgraduate course in Glasgow. She then lectured fashion and textiles in Oxford before returning to Scotland with her husband and daughter.
The business began with designing bridalwear. It is this same passionate attention to detail and love of making things that has led Leah Halliday to introduce a range of handcrafted products to the range that can now be created to each customers individual requirements.
Having searched for her own wedding dress Leah realised how difficult it can be finding a wedding dress that was a little bit different from the majority of designs on offer. Leah believes that your wedding dress should not compromise your individual style.
Leah’s own personal inspiration behind her designs comes from her love of beautiful fabrics, fabric manipulation, embroidery techniques, hand beadwork, vintage bits and pieces and designers’ work from the fifties.
With her passion for vintage clothing she understands how difficult it can be to find vintage wedding dresses that fits modern day body shapes and fabrics may have perished and deteriorated over time.
So for the bride who loves the look of vintage wedding dresses but just cannot find one. Leah Halliday can work together with clients to capture the look of the past, incorporate couture detailing and create a dress that fits perfectly.
